TURKEY HAS TO UNDO ITS MEMORIZATIONS |
Bridge arch that started to be built with one brick put by TUGIAD founders 20 years ago became bigger by each year and extended to Europe with a mission acquired in a critical period. Values put forward, contributions provided and need for our point of view in name of global prosperity at the end of our mission caused for a demand by the entire members of YES for us to carry out the task again.
With this point of view I see with a great pleasure that many critical tasks internationally or nationally awaiting TUGIAD in coming decades, we are obliged to prepare TUGIAD for those days ahead and that number of colleagues who will succeed these tasks are increasing every day.
On the other hand, results of contacts materialized during our visit to Japan as TUGIAD delegation last month were very important to show how powerful we are strategically with our historical background and young population in an ageing world. We observed in Japan which is the largest second economy in the world a big potential that we almost never exploited from the aspect of increasing our exports, implementation of joint projects in third countries and bringing in direct investments; moreover, we felt the existence of a friendly country that we do not come together suffýciently.
Finally, we realized a meeting with young Turkish businessmen living abroad in GAP. An adventure started as labour immigration 40 years ago faced us as a big potential to be exploited for Turkey with thousands of employers in its second generation, hundreds of thousands employees and turnovers reaching billion Euros. It was noticable to see their approach in context of taking responsibilities for their country of this generation ready to contribute for Turkey’s presentation abroad, new foreign markets for Turkish export products and plus value formed abroad coming to our country as investment. All this gave us excitement, motivation and strength. If we can look at ourselves, our people and surroundings without prejudice, we shall realize how great opportunities are awaiting us; that we have to put those in use to contribute our country’s, region’s and even the world’s happy and peaceful future.
If we can “see” when we “look”, then we shall find out that we live through a lot of beautiful things which destroy syndromes of memorized helplessness such as “nothing is done in this country; that is all we can do”; and that give us excitement and motivation.
For Turkey in our dreams, subject to be supported with wisdom and knowledge, we, everybody living on this land need this excitement very much.
Because this excitement shall provide us the energy required to face syndromes reached social dimensions and in a way to judge our memorizations.
Humanity needs our decisive, honorable stand so that peace, happiness and stability are spread in waves from this land to the whole world. Opportunity, ability and background to carry out this successfully exist in this country. However some memorizations and prejudices are unfortunately preventing us to see them. We are all responsible. Therefore we have to review memorization lists formed in almost every area arising from not knowing Turkey’s realities and potential adequately.
Otherwise, we shall not be fair to social memory of our country; deepness of humanity and as a result to our children’s future.
Through this occasion, I would like to thank on behalf of TUGIAD to my friends who contributed our works in Brussel; my friends who represented our country in last period travels abroad like Japan and Russia and brought global opportunities that are awaiting Turkey to us and finally to young bussinessmen over 300 who participated from 11 countries of Europe to our meeting invitation in GAP.
I like to share with you that all this work and honorable stand shown gave us excitement and motivation; most importantly proved how our vision is correct and realist.
In summary, one conclusion I have from this work carried out in November and December is that “Turkey has to undo its memorization and for this should look at itself and surroundings from a different window”.
Come on, lets get rid of this acquired helplessness syndrome as soon as possible and before it is too late.
