MURAT BEKDİK - İYİLER, KÖTÜLER KADAR CESUR OLSAYDI...

Her toplumda iyiler ve kötüler daima yanyana yaşayacaklardır. İnsanlığın en büyük ideali olan, toplumdaki her kişiyi "iyi insan-iyi vatandaş" yapmak hedefi hiçbir zaman gerçekleşmeyecektir. Çünkü, iyilik kadar kötülük de insanların yaradılışında, yani genlerindedir. Binlerce yıldan beri, yeryüzündeki hiçbir toplum kendini kötülüklerden tamamıyla arındıramamıştır.

İnsanların bazıları son derece kötü, bazıları ise son derece dürüst ve iyidir. Ancak, bu her iki grubun da toplum içindeki yüzdeleri düşüktür. Büyük çoğunluk ise ne iyidir, ne de kötü. Zaman ve zemine göre hareket ederler. Bu büyük kitle başkaları tarafından kolayca etkilenebileceğinden küçük fakat, militan gruplar tarafından yönlendirilebilirler.

Kötülüğün sonunda, haksız da olsa, bir takım maddi menfaatler elde edebilme olanağı vardır. Buna karşılık iyi hareketlerde kişisel arzulardan feragat, kendini frenleme, kendi için değil, başkaları için çalışma ve gayret gösterme vardır. Bu sebeple, kötülük yapmak kolay, iyilik yapmak zordur. Dolayısıyla, insanlar serbest bırakıldıklarında veya üzerlerinde toplum düzeninin baskısını hissetmediklerinde, büyük bir olasılıkla kötüye doğru yönelirler.

Toplum kötüye gitmeye başlayınca, çeşitli güç odakları çıkarlarda birleşip , kendi aralarında dayanışmaya gidebilirler. Siyasetçi işadamına arka çıkar, onun finans çevreleri ile olan sorunlarına çözümler, devlet ihalelerinde pay sahibi olmasını sağlar, yerel yönetimler ile olan problemlerini halleder. Buna karşılık, işadamı da siyasetçiye seçimler sırasında maddi destek verir ve onun daha fazla oy almasını sağlar. Toplumun diğer güç odakları da zaman içinde bu fesat ve menfaat çemberine dahil olurlar. Bu durumda, toplum tam anlamıyla çökmüş veya geri döndürülemez bir çökme süreci içine girmiş demektir. Çünkü, toplumdaki bütün güç odakları bir tek "şer" amaç etrafında birleşmiş bulunmaktadır. Eğer toplumda, bu birleşik fesat odaklarına veya bunların koalisyonuna karşı durabilecek başka bir güç odağı yoksa, bu sürecin sonu kaos ve çöküntüdür. Tüm bu gerçeklerin ışığı altında, toplumları ayakta tutmak, iyiye doğru yöneltmek için sürekli olarak aktif bir çabaya ihtiyaç vardır. Bu bağlamda, toplumların geri gitmemesi ve bozulmaması için, İsmet İNÖNÜ' nün "Bir toplumda iyiler, kötüler kadar cesur olmaz ise, o toplum batar" deyişi çerçevesinde, iyilik yapmanın kötülük yapmak kadar kolay olduğu bilincine sahip, iyi insanların güç odaklarının başında bulunmaları gereklidir.

Every society has its good ones and bad ones. Mankind's greatest ideal, making everyone a "good person, good citizen" is a dream never to come true. Because, people have bad genes, just as well a they have good genes: both are in their nature. From time immemorial, no society under the sun has been able to clear itself of evil. Some people are extremely bad, whereas others are extremely good and honest. However, in a society, the percentage of both of these groups is rather small. The great majority is neither completely good nor altogether bad. They act according to time and circumstance. Since these large masses can easily be affected by others, they are vulnerable to be led by small but militant groups. Evil may result in acquiring certain material benefits, however unfair. On the other hand, good deeds call for sacrifice of personal desires, execution of will power and working and trying hard, not for yourself, but for others. Therefore, it is easier to be bad than good. Consequently, when people are given a lot of freedom, or are in a situation where they do not feel pressured by the society, they often develop an inclination for the evil. When things start going bad in a society, various power groups may unite for common interests and act in solidarity. The politician backs up the businessman: he solves his problems with the financial circles and with local administrations and makes sure he gets his share from state tenders. In return the businessman financially supports the politician during elections and makes sure he gets more votes. In time, other power groups in the society join in this wicked circle of shared interests. Under these circumstances, the society is either completely torn to pieces or is in the irreversible process of ending up as such. Becasue, all power groups in the society have gathered around a single "evil" target. If, in the society, there appears to be not one power group to resist this united evil front or their coalition, the process ands in chaos and collapse. In the light of all these realities, there is need for continuous active effort to maintain a healthy society and carry it to better days. To ensure that societies do not take backward steps or fall into corruption, let us remember İsmet İnönü's words, "If, in a society, the good are not as bold as the evil, that society is bound to sink into history." It is necessary that good people who are aware of the fact that doing good deeds is just as easy as doing bad ones, control power groups.
